First... her 6 month stats:
Weight: 17 lb 13 oz (75-90th percentile)
Height: 27 in (90th percentile!!)
Head Circumference: 17.4 in (75-90th percentile)
We cracked up when we heard her height. I am sure her *genes* will kick in soon but her overall length is quite tall! She still has a long torso and shorter legs.
In the last 2 months, she has learned so much!
- She loves to sit up and play. She's a pro now! She has some favorite toys but mostly if it is close to her, it will end up in her mouth!
- She goes to MOPS with mommy some Mondays and to Little Village (church nursery) with mommy/daddy on Sunday mornings. She even hung out with some new friends while mommy and daddy visited a new small group for church. As far as we know, she does great! And there is always too much to watch and too many things to play with than to take a nap. This can make it very hard on mommy. Ha. And this past Monday, we got to hang out with one of mommy's friends and her sweet little boy, Caleb. It was so fun to see Caleb and Peyton sitting next to each other at the table. They definitely got everyone's attention!!
- When on her stomach, she isn't getting up on her knees yet. I blame that long torso. :) Although I think she is pretty close. She can maneuver around on her stomach to usually get whatever catches her eye.
- She is up to 2 solid meals a day. She has cereal (usually oatmeal) in the morning... sometimes with some bananas mixed in. At dinnertime, she usually has a veggie and a fruit. She's tried bananas, apples, pears, apples w/blueberries (canned), prunes (canned), squash, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, green beans and peas. So far she loves all of those EXCEPT for the green stuff! We usually have to chase a bite of green beans/peas with a bite of sweet potatoes or squash. :) We'll keep trying.
- She is a drooling fool! Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately??), there are no evidences of teeth coming in. Most of her shirts are drenched within an hour.
- She loves to test out her voice. She can squeal so loud that sometimes it hurts our ears!! She finds it so fun! She doesn't quite understand when we tell her to use her "inside voice". Ha.
- I don't know who taught her... hmmm... but she loves to cluck her tongue. (See video in post below) She's a hoot. She gets so proud of herself when she does it.
- She moved up to 6-9 mo clothing right at 6 months. Some of her 9 mo clothes still fit her but to my horror, some don't! Even cute outfits that she never got a chance to wear yet! Boo!! We are ready for some 12 mo clothes & PJs. Yikes!!
- She is still sleeping thru the night great. Some mornings she wakes up super early but will eventually fall back to sleep. Her naps... especially her afternoon one... are getting a little shorter. She sometimes has some separation anxiety but for the most part, she knows what to do when we lay her in her crib!
- She is such a sweet girl. She loves to give "kisses". If she's not distracted, we can make a noise with our lips and she moves right in to give us a wet, slobbery, open-mouth kiss right on our mouth! I love it.
- She isn't much of a snuggler... another boo!... not sure why... but I take advantage of any opportunity when I can snuggle with her. Right after I feed her before she goes to bed, she usually falls asleep. I love to just hold and rock her for a bit.
- We are starting to forgo carrying her in her infant carrier/car seat when we go places. First off, she is just too heavy in that thing! Second, she would rather look around and check everything out. She still looks so tiny sitting in a high chair at a restaurant or riding in a shopping cart!
- Her personality is starting to shine thru. I'm scared. Ha. She is super sweet but I can start to see evidences of a strong-willed child. Lord help us! :)
We are so in love with this little girl. She is truly an amazing, wonderful gift from the Lord. We are floored every day that we get to be this sweet girl's mommy and daddy.
