as this week closes in on our first year anniversary, there is so much to say. i've been thinking about what i was doing a year ago. how was my stress level? what was left to do? was i REALLY getting anything done at work? :)
i have also been thinking about all of those that helped get us to that day... that celebrated with us. we were truly blessed to be surrounded by friends and family that praised the Lord together with us.
i know its a year later... but i feel like thanking those people again. (even though most do not read my blog!! haha.)
- first, my sweet husband. little did he know about the indecisive and easily-stressed woman he was about to marry... i know its hard for the man to feel involved in the planning when the woman has been "planning" her wedding since she was old enough to dream of being married. i know you are still learning my quirks... but yet you love me anyways.
- the unsung hero:
my mother. she had dreamt of this day for me... but at the same time was terrified of the "stressed brooke". :) the planning started off a little rocky but ended with ease - at least in my opinion. what a wonderful, beautiful woman. am so blessed to call her mom.
- my parents. all of them. i was blessed by them financing my wedding even though i was 31! what a gift. YOU are a gift.
- my in-laws. i was welcomed into the family with arms open wide. and they are such givers. i am truly blessed to have this new family.
- my sister. i could never imagine going through the wedding process without her. she always has a desire to take care of me... and for her to be by my side through it all - there are no words. even though she was VERY pregnant with little finian, she wanted to do all she could... anything to lighten the load. and her work on the wedding programs was even better than i could have imagined. both her and j-man worked so hard at getting them done and printed in time. love you!!
- my bridesmaids. for everything. you have each been such an important part of my life. whether it was for my full 31 years... or for just a couple... you make my heart smile. also, for my wonderful shower. you can see my post about that
here. looking at those pictures makes me laugh... and smile... and cry... and wonder where my collarbones went. LOL. but seriously. you all are a blessing.
- my old homegroup. "doing life" with them was truly an answer to prayer and one of the biggest blessings i have ever had. in fact, my mother prayed for that quite often for me... and got my tears flowing after thanking the Lord for my sweet friends right before walking down the aisle. love you... and miss you.
- sharon. she offered to help decorate in any way... and she decorated the reception so beautifully. it was so wonderful to decide on a theme/design and let her do her magic... and not have to worry about it.
- the ladies at mbbc. so much of my history has been in that church. so many dear friends. i was blessed by a bridal shower given by several women that have played a big part of my life. and of my family's. the love of Christ is definitely portrayed through those women.
- the scurry compound. so neat that my in-laws have such great friends... that are also next-door neighbors. they threw us a couples shower and we were truly "showered" with love.
has it really been a year?? wow.
